The CIPD defines diversity as valuing everyone as an individual – valuing people as employees, customers and clients.
Diversity is not new. Differences between individuals and styles have long been recognised as being important to team performance.
Greater understanding, respect and value for the benefits that ‘difference’ can bring are becoming more and more relevant for modern organisations as a result of an increasingly diverse customer base and labour market, and the introduction of legislation designed to prevent discrimination in the workplace.
Our sister site at www.thecoachingworks.co.uk has been up and running since 2003 and specialises in coaching and training, however, over time, the area of diversity and fairness at work has become a topic close to our hearts (for both personal and professional reasons) and is an area we wanted to focus on in greater detail - hence this site.
This site is being developed to provide a shop front for our training and to share resources.
